Robertson Bell are working with a large, complex, nationally recognised not for profit organisation to recruit a Senior Financial Accountant on a permanent basis.

The role is fully remote only travel into the office once per quarter.

The Role

As Senior Financial Accountant, you will:

• Lead preparation of large, complex statutory accounts

• Take ownership of the balance sheet, reconciliations, and asset registers

• Manage and improve the audit process

• Act as key contact for auditors and external stakeholders

• Provide technical advice on VAT, SORP, IFRS and FRS 102

• Manage and develop a small team

• Work across the organisation to improve controls, processes, and reporting

Success in this role will be seen through a cleaner, quicker, better managed audit and stronger balance sheet ownership.

The Ideal Candidate

You will be:

• A qualified accountant

• Technically strong in financial accounting and statutory reporting

• Experienced in leading audits

• Confident owning a balance sheet

• Able to work independently and think beyond checklists

• A strong communicator able to influence and build relationships

Experience within charity, public sector, or regulated environments is helpful but not essential. Mindset and capability are more important than sector background.
